2022 Flood Emergency Response
Relief and recovery support for families displaced by the catastrophic 2022 floods across Dadu district.
The 2022 monsoon floods submerged large parts of Sindh. Dadu district — including Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar — was among the worst affected, with entire villages under water for months and schools destroyed or turned into shelters.
ACD mobilised locally to reach displaced families with immediate relief, and then stayed on through the recovery phase to help restore learning and livelihoods.
What this programme covers
Emergency relief
Food rations, drinking water, hygiene kits and shelter materials for displaced households.
Health & hygiene
Awareness on waterborne disease and support for mobile medical outreach.
Learning continuity
Temporary learning spaces so children did not lose an entire academic year.
Recovery
Helping families restart livelihoods and return children to school as water receded.
